Description
Blue plastic checkbook cover made for Crutch, MacDonald & Doyle Pharmacy in Litchfield. Single-fold cover with outer plastic textured to resemble leather. In gold, printed text in lower-right corner of cover, "CRUTCH, MacDONALD & DOYLE." Inside cover has clear plastic sleeves on top and bottom, with a three-year calendar (1976-1978) inserted into top sleeve.
Provenance
Robert Doyle worked as a pharmacist at Crutch & MacDonald before buying the business in 1961 and continuing as manager, owner, and pharmacist until 1994. Doyle's father owned a pharmacy in Torrington, where his brother worked. When the Torrington pharmacy closed, Doyle opened Crutch & MacDonald Medical Equipment, also on West Street.
