Description
Round bronze medal hanging from blue grosgrain ribbon. Pin back on one side of ribbon. Medal is cast with a scene featuring men and women dressed in stereotypical "pilgrim" outfits. The words "1635-1935 CONNECTICUT 300 YEARS" impressed along right side. The reverse of the medal features the Connecticut state seal. The words, "THREE CENTURIES OF SELF-GOVERNMENT BASED ON CONSTITUTIONAL LIBERTY" are impressed around the outer edge.
Provenance
This medal commemorates Connecticut's Tercentenary Celebration of 1935. It belonged to Col. Samuel H. Fisher of Litchfield, CT, who was the chairman of the Tercentenary Commission of the state.
