Description
Rectangular painted board for chess or checkers. Wooden panel with rounded wood trim, decorated with playing surface of 8x8 red and black squares, a painted image of a white church with a tall steeple, and the words "LITCHFIELD/CONN't" in black paint. Chessboard grid is carved into the wood, with the squares painted in alternating red and black. The church image resembles the meetinghouse of the First Congregational Church of Litchfield.
