Description
U.S. Army fatigue uniform. Olive green fatigue jacket (a) with long sleeves. Spread collar with buttonholes and zipper in back. Front placket with zipper and snaps. Two chest patch pockets. Epaulets with buttons. Embroidered name above right pocket, "FINAN." Embroidered above left pocket, "U.S. ARMY." Olive green quilted liner (b) buttoned into jacket. Printed label at center-back with size, fiber content, and care instructions; listed as "Liner, Cold Weather Coat." Handwritten text on tag, "LT. FINAN."
Provenance
Worn by Brian Finan, b. Litchfield, who served in the Army from 1976 to 1994 and retired as a Major. Finan served as an undercover intelligence officer for most of his career. Finan's father, James Finan, served during World War II; his jacket is also in the collection (2020-42-2).
Comment
Jacket has patch on left sleeve, insignia of United States Army Intelligence Center of Excellence. Epaulets have Army rank insignia for Captain.
