Description
Glazed earthenware dishes used as toys or play teaware. Off-white ceramic with dull green or grey transfer-printed decoration. Bands of floral decoration with large flower clusters extend around interior sides of the dishes, with a thin floral motif border around the rim. A is marked "24" on bottom in ink and has an impressed maker's mark of a four-petal flour. C is marked "11" on bottom in ink.
Provenance
Included with tea sets and child's teaware belonging to Margaret Sargent Fisher, wife of Samuel H. Fisher, who grew up in New Haven in the 1870s-1880s. Later displayed in Babbitt home.
