            Description
                Light navy waterproof men's jacket (a) with detachable hood (b). Spread collar, center-front zipper. Four flap pockets. Round orange, blue, and white embroidered patch with lettering, "GULF." Pencil pocket on left sleeve. Lined with navy fur and quilted fabric. Two labels at center-back: woven "Marine Clothing Co., Inc., Uniforms/Boston, Mass." label with nautical flags; and non-woven paper with text "POLARMATE" and fiber content and care instructions. Loop at center-back. Attached, zippered matching hood lined with navy fur. 
            Provenance
                Worn by donor while working at the Switzer Service Station/Gas Station, 1962-1979. The station was located at 199 West Street and was built in 1947 after the previous building burned down. As of time of donation, the site housed a Citgo station.
