Description
Powder horn, made of animal horn, with a wooden base attached to the powder horn with iron nails. Initials "IM" carved into the wooden base. Strap ring near spout. Closure for spout is missing. The powder horn is undecorated. Along the length of the horn is carved "Israel Minor His Horn October y 1758."
Provenance
Israel Minor was born in Woodbury, Connecticut in 1735. He served in the French and Indian War in 1756 and 1758. He also served in the Revolutionary War. He later moved to Roxbury, Connecticut and was married twice.
