Description
Brass sewing bird, stained to resemble steel. Square clamp with molded floral designs, into which is inserted a screw with a pierced quatrefoil-shaped head, also with molded floral design. At the top of the clamp is a bird of hammered brass, resembling a dove, with feathered texture over the entirety of its body. The bird is formed by two separate halves joined by a pin joint in the middle, with a thin iron strip forming a spring between the tail sections When the spring is compressed, the bird opens its beak.
