Sterling silver cup with foot and curved handle. Cup engraved with a shield flanked by floral vines. "Edith Howell Perkins/ from her Aunt/ L. Deming/ Dec. 25, 1971" engraved in shield. Bottom of cup stamped, "BALL. BLACK & CO/ NEW-YORK/ 129/ English Sterling."
Comment
Edith Howell Perkins was the daughter of J. Deming Perkins. Lucretia Deming, her great-aunt appears to have given this cup to Edith for Christmas in 1871. Edith's second Christmas - she was born in July of 1870.
