Description
Light pink felt women's hat. Lime green grosgrain ribbon around crown and tied in a bow. Black net veil draped around crown and tied. Pink and brown feathers. Inside has dark brown grosgrain ribbon band, dark brown cord elastic, and black woven felt label with white lettering, "Walter Florell/9 East 5th/New York."
Provenance
Belonged to Vivian G. (Brown) Smith (1903-1996), who married Winthrop Hiram Smith (1893-1961) in 1947. In 1948, the couple purchased a farm property in Litchfield, naming it Winvian after their combined names. Their son and daughter-in-law expanded the farm into a boutique hotel.
