G.A.R. soldiers' and sailors' badge. Background of red, white and blue ribbon with cut point ends. Pin bar is a bronze American eagle with shield and laurel sprays. Round medal with image of monument and inscription: 'THE SOLDIERS AND SAILORS MONUMENT NEW HAVEN, CONN. / HEIGHT 110 FEET. On reverse: Zig zag border around center inscription: "ERECTED / TO COMMEMORATE THE / SERVICES / OF HER / SONS IN / 4 WARS / DEDICATED JUNE 17 1889.
