Description
Oil on board portrait of Homer Boardman of New Milford, CT. The sitter is an older gentleman with white hair and is wearing a dark suit with vest, white collard shirt and white necktie. Background of portrait is a very deep red - possibly mean to represent a certain pulled behind the sitter. The portrait is unsigned, but has been attributed to Waldo and Jewett.
Provenance
This painting was passed down through the Boardman family to McKim Dangerfield (the great-great-great-great grandson of Homer Boardman) before being acquired by the Litchfield Historical Society.
