Description
Pressed glass bottle, clear glass, squared shoulders with beveled front corners; rear corners are rounded. 0.75" neck with flat rim and cork remnant. Embossed lettering on front, "J.W. WHEELER/DRUGGIST/LITCHFIELD, CONN." Embossed lettering on bottom "PAT DEC 13/87/C.L.G. CO. 3."
Provenance
J.W. Wheeler was a druggist and stationer on West Street, Litchfield. The store was established sometime around 1870, and was later known as Wheeler Pharmacy Co. and Wheeler Drug Co. (1918).
