Description
Anodized aluminum ashtray stand made by the Warren McArthur Corporation. Circular base with tubular aluminum upright terminating in an aluminum basin with layered horizontal striping. Outward curving tubular aluminum member extends from bottom of basin to space above basin. Cigarette receptacle insert is missing from basin.
Provenance
Part of a collection owned by twin brothers Dr. John Houlihan (dental surgeon) and Dr. James Houlihan (optometrist). Used in their medical office waiting room in Torrington, CT. Purchased in 1939 by Dr. John Houlihan from the Superintendent of the Warren McArthur Corporation in Bantam, CT.
