Description
Printed lawn sign on corrugated plastic. Two-sided graphic with background of black, brown, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple horizontal stripes. White text overlapping background, "EVERYONE/IS/WELCOME/HERE" set between two white hearts.
Provenance
The lawn sign was designed by the Litchfield Pride group, organized to support the LGBTQ+ community and their allies in Litchfield. The group organized multiple events in 2020, including the "Rally for Equality, Acceptance, and Love" on the Litchfield town green and the repainting of a community crosswalk (North Lake Street) to incorporate rainbow colors. The lawn signs were sold as a fundraising effort and a way for community members to show support. Homes around town displayed lawn signs and other Pride signs as part of the Pride Path event from June 26-27, 2021, to coincide with the last weekend of Pride Month.
