Description
Plain yellowware plate. Plate is 11.25" in diameter and 1.5" deep. Glazed.
Provenance
Used by generations of the Farnham family in the kitchen of their farmhouse in Morris, Connecticut. Morris was settled in the 1720s and organized as the South Farms parish of Litchfield in 1767. It was incorporated as a separate town in 1859 and named for James Morris (1752-1820), a Revolutionary War soldier who opened an academy in town in 1790. The Farnham Farm has been in the family since 1735.
