Whitework Coverlet

Elaborate white work coverlet. Fringe on three sides. Center design of four pineapples joined at bottom and radiating outward - one in each direction. Greek key design creates square around pineapples with a fleur de lis in each corner. Interior of square covered with small dots. Larger square around this interior embroidery section composed of two lines. Within this box is abstract design of triangles, diamonds and meandering line with squared corners. Exterior border by fringe of interlocking circles next to that an undulating vine with leaves and round flowers made from series of dots.

According to donor letters "Sarah M Trowbridge" was cross stitched along edge of coverlet. This was not found when quilt viewed in 2009
