Description
Greenish/brown felted wool fireman's dress uniform; double breasted with silver colored "FD" buttons; three buttons on cuffs (sewn flat); cuffs edged with thin blue stripe; jacket extends to mid-thigh; seam at waist; fancy back vent with two buttons at waist and two buttons below; bottom cut - not hemmed; brown lining - full of holes; front to just above waist has been quilted; breast pocket inside left side; label "Boylam Mfg Co. Lim'd 34 Howard St. NY"

Worn by George E. Phelps (1881-1958) who was in the Litchfield Fire Department from 1900-1958. It was donated to the Department by his daughter Gertrude Phelps O'Donnell
