A: Eisenhower Jacket - Man's olive green waist length light weight wool jacket; hidden zipper; snaps to close; waist band snaps closed; two patch pockets with flaps; no cuffs or buttons on sleeves; waist band buttons at sides. Insignia on left upper arm - gold colored american eagle on patch with curved top and sharply pointed bottom (indicates the wearer's rank, E-4 Specialist). Also on left upper arm - shield shaped patch of blue, white and red with two fleur de lis and upward pointed arrow. The patch was issued to men stationed in Com Z (European Communications Zone) from the mid-1950s to 1960. "C1363" stamped below back of collar. B: Olive green Eisenhower waist length jacket; concealed buttons; waistband with snap close and buckles at sides; two patch pockets with flaps; sleeve cuffs button close with two buttons; two interior pockets lined with cotton twill. Insignia - over right pocket - circle with eagle, wings spread (called the "Ruptured Duck", indicates Honorable Service); upper right arm - blue shield with four white stars irregularly placed (Indicates 23rd Infantry Americal division), inverted chevron in green and black and two green bars (indicated Corporal rank); upper left arm - circular patch green ground with black cat (indicates 81st Infantry Division), inverted chevron as with right arm; above left cuff - square patch with three yellow gold bars (represents 6 months in combat), olive and black parallelogram placed on diagonal. Label inside right pocket "Jackets, Field, Wool O.D. Stock No. 55-J-384-595 36R Herman D. Oritsky & Co. P.O. No. 20231"

Worn by Wolcott Vaughn, a Warren resident and the donor's uncle. From the date of the two jackets, Vaughn served during WWII and was stationed in France during the 1950s.
