Description
Empire style chest of drawers. Flat top with curved backboard, ends curl under, accented with brass ornaments. Two pineapple finials top columnettes at either side of back in front of board. Five ranks of drawer - 3 small single knob drawers in top rank followed by a deep drawer with two knobs. Bottom three drawers recessed or undercut. Undercut supported by fancy turned columns of acanthus leaves and knobs over long paw feet. Square plain feet in back. Round glass knobs.
Comment
Amos Adams worked in partnership with George Dewey in 1819 and 1820. He later moved to New York.
