White silk dress with purple floral embroidery; ruffle trim; pleated "collar" around front neckline; boning sewn into bodice; hook and eye closures; metal snaps have been added with alterations; short sleeves; also extra scraps of fabric in box

18th/early 19th century fabric made into a ca. 1860s dress; skirt was then taken apart either for another alteration or to use fabric for something else; evidence of both machine and hand sewing
