Description
Reproduction of the Dudley Road Scraper #222878 patented Dec. 23, 1879. It was the forerunner of the modern hydraulic grader. Consists of a 5" board with reinforced iron base attached to two wooden handles. Heavy iron rods curved around from underneath handles (where rods are attached) Rods have oval shaped loops at ends.

Mr. Dudley had 5 replicas of the Road Scraper made based on patent records from the U.S. Patent Office. Mr. Dudley's great great uncle Samuel H. Dudley invented and patented the Dudley Road Scraper in 1879.
