Description
Triangular-shaped piece of blue ribbed silk base for stomacher. Embroidered in cream, green, pink, coral and black silk thread is a floral design. Backed by piece of homespun linen. Piece viewed by members of the Costume Society of America in 1006 and believed to have originally been a man's vest that was converted intoa stomacher at a later date. Each side of stomacher has small line which the seam cuts off indicating a pocket may have started there at one time.
