Description
A somber colored study of pears, a glass and 2 bottles on a table. Dark green background, lighter greens and blues for objects. The paint is thick, put on with a wide brush and then worked over with smaller brush. Delineation done over paint with thin black lines, quickly done, making almost geometrical forms. Low keyed, no highlights, cold colors with only warmth in patch of yellow and touch of orange worked in foreground and on side of one bottle. Gold metal frame. Signed in lower right hand corner "S. Mortimer"
