Dark blue wool jacket; simple; single breasted; small collar; fairly short; five brass buttons with american eagle and "C" on shield (for calvary); three small buttons on sleeves; no external pockets; two pockets on inside of jacket; two bars on shoulders; silver braid and two leaves on gold flannel ground; collar and hems edged with black braid; black lining with front part of lining quilted; label inside "Hatfield & Sons/239 Fifth Avenue/New York"
