Description
Large round bronze medal with smooth edge and raised lip on both sides. Raised edge on both sides has serrated pattern. On one side of medal inscribed "1636 1936/OUT OF SMALL/BEGINNINGS GREAT/ER THINGS HAVE/BEEN PRODUCTED BY HIS/HAND THAT MADE ALL/THINGS OF NOTHING/AND GIVES BEING/TO ALL THINGS/THAT ARE" On the back side is shield with three open books inside, a large block letter on the open page of each book "V" "E" "R" "I"/ "TAS" Shield surrounded by leaves and branches. Inscribed around edge of medal "ANNO ACADEMIAE HARBARDIANAE TRECENTESIMO MDCCCCXXXVI" House in original box, cardboard. Corners of both bottom and lid are torn. Printed on outside of lid "Harvard/Tercentenary/Medal" Separate piece of paper that rests under medal in box. Printed on paper "TERCENTENARY MEDAL/presented with the/compliments of/HARVARD UNIVERSITY/ The acceptance of this Medal is requested, as a/presonal memento of the Tercentenary/of Harvard College"
