Description
Patchwork quilt top, made of printed cottons. 6" border of red, white and brown marbled pattern. 4 white patches with iron gaull ink inscriptions of passages take from the Old Testament - one in each corner of quilt. Row of pinwheel stars on each side (16 total). Inside of pinwheel star border are LeMoyne stars in each corner of center section with piece of brown fabric with vein like desing. Center of quilt top is a 9 patch with LeMoyne star in center. Inscribed at bottom of the linen square in the lower right corner under the Bible verse - "This patchwork and this writing was performed in the 93 years of my long life. Ruth Croswell aged 93 1857/for Miss/Mary Pierce."
