Description
A: 9 1/4" long x 5 1/2" wide x 1 7/8" deep. Plane, blocky shaped body - two pieces of wood, one stacked on top of the other with straight blade held in place with a wooden wedge. Plane has curved handle on front. Marked on blade "Teugeot freres/A Garantie/France" with symbol of lion standing on arrow. B: 9 1/2" long x 3 1/2" wide x 2 5/8" deep. Rectangular plane with curved blade for carving cornices. Blade held in place with wooden wedge. One side of blade impressed "No. 220/3/4" and other side "A. Methieson/ (illegible)" with star inside moon. C: 8 3/4" long x 3 1/4" wide x 1 5/8" deep. Two pieces of wood held together with heavy bolts, fastened with large wing nuts. Blade as above, makes 1/4" cut. Blade stamped but illegible.

Planes were used by donor's father Alphonse Pescatore of Torrington who used them in cabinetmaking.
