Description
Turkey red unlined wool cape or cloak; hooded and white a collar; linen ribbon binding around hem of hood and collar opening; also at seam joining hood and collar with body of cape; hook and eye closing at neck; hood back has been gathered into small pleats which form a kind of starburst - might be constructed to cover a calash or bonnet of some sort; collar comes to a point at the back; no yoke; cape gets fullness from eight widely separated and fairly narrow pleats; bottom has been hemmed; the body is constructed in three strips which gives it a bell shaped form; the top strip is horizontal in front but is sharply diagonal in back ending at the hem
