Watercolor of clapboard house. Saltbox style. Center chimney. Walls and doorway have no shutters or decoration. Coffin door on side of house. Stone wall in front with large tree. Red outbuilding visible to left of house. Signed "Alice Cranston Fenner" in lower right hand corner.

Watercolor donated in frame - materials acidic and removed from frame. Paper taped to back of frame "Birthplace of John Brown/Born May 9th 1800/Torrington, Connecticut/From an Original water color/By Alice Cranston Fenner - Copyright 1957/Litchfield, Connecticut."
