Description
Canvas haversack painted black. Haversack has long shoulder strap and lip which attaches to body of bag with leather and metal buckle. Painted on lid is an image of an anchor and a cannon (in white paint) On body of bag in white paint "1901" On back of bag in white paint "Burnsides/Coast Division/ 1862"

Belonged to Henry Smith in Burnside's Expedition. He was in the 8th CT Regiment during the Civil War.
