Heavy bronze medallion or plaque, round. Front has left facing portrait bust of subject. Inscription across top "NATHANIAL HAWTHORN" Gabled house to the left, tomb stone with name to right with quill pen slanted across. In middle "1804 MAY 18/JULY 4 1864" At base is a shield or Grollier Club with name and date. Back is unfinished
