Description
Fitted round bottom for stove hole; straight sides with cast line at shoulder; rounded top with slight lip for top flat domed with side knob fitting into round hole on shoulder two bails coming up for handle with flat top; flowing curved spout.
Comment
"George D. Stone of Elizabeth, NJ gave kettle to his cousin, Mr. Granniss, in 1906. It contains [?] a letter showing family connections and telling the story of the kettle." See file for note on the letter, which dates the kettle to 1783. See also 1952-02-8 for similar story, different kettle
