Description
World War I era round metal button. Printed in blue around edge of button is "Connecticut Woman's Liberty Loan Committee." Large red "V" in center of button. Printed in center of V is text "I HAVE SOLD A VICTORY LIBERTY BOND." Paper label on back "The Whitehead & Hoag Co./Buttons, Badges, Novelties and Signs/Newark, NJ."
Provenance
The National Woman's Liberty Loan Committee was formed in 1917 to enlist women in the selling of Liberty Bonds. This button from the Connecticut branch is for the Victory Liberty Bond (Fifth Liberty Loan), issued in 1919.
