Comment
This dress was likely made by, or for, Anne Grant Marsh (1748-1838) who was the wife of Rev. John Marsh (1742-1821) of Wethersfield, CT. Family tradition states that Mrs. Marsh wore the gown to a ball given for General Washington and Lafayette.
