Description
Black silk breeches, lined with white linen. Two pockets on each side at front. Third, smaller pocket on front on pants in waistband. Five black silk covered buttons down front. Flap on front which button closed at top two corners. Four silk covered buttons at each knee with silk tie at end. Pants have very long torso (17" from crotch to waistline) V cut in back of pants and piece of silk added to exand waistline. 4 button - two front and two back - added for suspenders - later addition - wooden buttons painted black

The breeches are said to have belonged to Dr. Daniel Sheldon (1750-1840) of Litchfield, CT.
