Description
Wooden oval sign. Painted black but white primer layer visible underneath flaking paint. In gold lettering "ANTIQUES/THOMAS McBRIDE" In center 3 dimensional eagle - protrudes from body of sign - painted gold, wings spread, head turned to the left, swag of bunting underneath. Two round iron hooks on back of sign.
Comment
Thomas McBride owned and operated an antique shop in Litchfield behind his home on West St. (to the right of town hall, the Thomas Trowbridge house) He retired to Florida in 2010 and sold the contents of his shop and house at auction. For inventory of auction see accession folder 2010-214-1.
