Black velvet bodice with high black lace choker collar fastening around from right with gold lace around upper edge, flexible wire in collar for stiffness. Panel of black lace with gold at edge down right side of front opening. Three round lace covered buttons on front. Front fastened with series of hooks and eyes. Bodice has large velvet collar falling in a triangle at back with six layered black flowers around edge; collar extends down front with gold and black lace trim on outer edge; 3/4 length sleeves of black silk covered with black net with black velvet oversleve extending halfway down. Bodice lined in black silk with 11 stays sewn into lining. Inner waist tie with black metal buckle. Label on interior of bodice "Mme Thompson/Brooklyn"
