Description
Truncated cone shaped bonnet of grey/green silk; small blue, brown, and large green feathers attached to top; black lace ribbon around middle with large black lace trimmed grey/green silk ribbon in back; inside of brim decorated with tiny white flowers and black and green clusters and green paper leaves on the left and larger (half-dollar sized) white flowers with blue tipped bud in center; whtie lace along the inside brim

Bought in 1850 by Margaret Fuller, Marchioness Ossoli, in Paris, and sent by her to Gabrielle Cheney in the ship which preceded the one in which she, herself, sailed for home and was drowned
