Pin bar, gold with rough finish, and "20 YEARS" two links below on each side then attached a second bar, silver with oak leaf background and "15 YEARS", two links and brass bar with same background "PRO PATRIA ET GLORIA" Background blue ribbon with link and large bronze cross with crossed cannons at 90 degrees, oak and laurel cluster aruond, large "7" in center with "LONG AND FAITHFUL SERVE" around. Back is plain, inscribed "1040/Private/J. Chudleigh Hicks/Co. D". "Tiffany & Co" and "Ditto/Pat. Mar 3, 1880" at bottom
