Description
Quilt made of alternating vertical strips of fabric. The first stripe is a classical design of an eagle in laurel wreath atop an epergne which in turn rests on a cadeusus surrounded by cornucopias of flowers. There is a small sprig border on each side. The alternating stripes are small stars in chains obviously block printed in brown. Binding is a checkerboard pattern woven tape in dark green and white. Backing is cotton. The coverlet is quilted in a scallop shell design. Fabric is 27 1/4 inches wide, vertical repeat 8 inches and is pieced at the top and along right side of coverlet.
