Description
A - Wooden tavern sign, painted black, "J. Turner Inn" painted in green lettering on both sides. Two iron bars at top. Deep molded edge around outside edge of sign. B - Large wooden ball painted gold. Iron hook on one end for hanging
Comment
The J. Turner Inn was owned by Jacob Turner (1778-1838) and was located in Northfield. The house was later owned by Deacon John Catlin and then passed to his youngest son James who owned it at the time the sign was donated to the Historical Society.
