a: ladies full length navy blue velvet gown with full skirt and small train. Two pieces. Top is short, fitted velvet with green velvet trim around top of cuffs and on top of v-shaped neckline. Lined with white satin. Sleeves are 3/4 length, puffed at top, fitted at bottom. What cotton inserted blouse or dickey is pleated and has the green velvet trim around the standing collar, as well as braided trim. Black lace applique on top of sleeves and on front of blouse. B: Skirt is full length navy velvet lined with black satin. Black lace applique around bottom front half of skirt. Six hooks and eyes close the skirt in the back.

Belonged to donor's mother Mrs John Mayher of Litchfield. Mrs. Mayher was the wife of John Mayher, president of the Litchfield Historical Society for many years.
