Description
Fan or Hand Screen. Handle made of translucent tortoise shell. Single, rigid solid handle. Two thin arms extend from top of handle up along sides of fan. Body of fan made of heavy parchment paper painted blue. Paper pierced creating design of solids and voids. Some areas painted pink. Figure in center with Egyptian eye, elaborate head dress and skirt, holding a shield. Body painted gold.
