Oil on cardboard portrait of Origen Storrs Seymour (1804-1881). Rectangular painting set within an ornate gilt rectangular frame with oval opening. A bust portrait of an older man, facing left. Short gray hair w/widow's peak, gray eyes, wearing a black jacket with white high collar and black tie. See 1918-06-3 for companion portrait of Mrs. Seymour (Lucy Morris Woodruff, 1807-1894). Painted over a photo.

See 1918-06-3 for companion portrait of Mrs. Seymour Origin Storrs Seymour (1804-1881) was born in Litchfield, Yale 1824, Litchfield Law School (LLS) 1824, and admitted to the Bar in 1826. Assisted Judge Gould at the LLS. CT House in 1842, 1849-50, Speaker 1850 and 1880. Congressman, 1851-55, Judge of Superior Court, 1855-63, Judge of CT Supreme Court, 1870-73, Chief Justice, 1873-74. Married Lucy Morris Woodruff (1807-1894) in 1830, she attended the Litchfield Female Academy from 1822-1824.
