Description
Oval orange carnelian with sloped edge set in octangonal gold frame with faceted back. Four gold balls on back support two concave profile circles with gold palmette fret work inside. Circles joined at top with cylinder of turned gold for watch chain.
Comment
This watch seal belonged to the family of John Deming, one of the patentees to whom the Charter of Charles II was granted. He was born in 1615. This fob was previously the property of Mrs. J.M. Hoppin, donor's aunt, of New Haven, CT.
