Description

Wool shawl; large rectangular panel in center - red wool; at two ends is large paisley panel (25" high) - red, purple, pink, orange, and blue grey; around edge of shawl is border of green paisley design with blue, pink, red and cream; on bottom of two ends with large paisley panel is a hand embroidered panel on blocks of fabric sewn together; fringe on bottom of this border; at bottom of center red panel is an embroidered floral border; paisley borders and panels have been sewn together

Collected by Mrs. J.N. Vanderpoel and given to Adelaide Deming in 1941 as a gift to be worn as an evening cape
