Description
Print - filling in the center of the paper is a large orange from that looks like a whale's mouth open - on the right of the upper orange section is a blue trapezoid with only one right angle. Names of famous French painters are done in script with a black felt pen on the white and going under the lower portion of the orange figure and under the left edge of the upper portion - appear on top of the right edge of the upper orange portion and go under the blue form. Aluminum frame under plexi.

Ivan Chermayeff was a renowned designer and artist whose firm, Chermayeff & Geismar (& Haviv) produced logos for Pan American Airlines, PBS, Mobil, National Geographic, the Smithsonian, and many others. At the time of donation, Chermayeff lived on East Chestnut Hill Road. Chermayeff gave a talk on 20th Century Design at the Historical Society.
