Description
Oval hair mourning brooch. Gold with gold edge, band of balck enamel, followed by a row of seed pearls, center with mounted oval bezel cut glass under which is chains of white hair around woven brown hair center. Pin back, inscibed with the initial "J C" probably containing the hair of Jane (Cauldwell) Mrs. George Colgate (1803-1869) from childhood and old age.
