1980-20-2 A-E

A - Dress - bronze colored silk dress trimmed in dark brown silk with a ruffle of valenciennes lace at the neck, lined with muslin and fastened down front with three hooks and eyes. Bodice is made with six fabric covered buttons down the front and three on each wrist length sleeve. Front of waistline is in two point san dback in one over which is attached a dark brown bustle bound in the bodice material. The sleeves are slid and trimmed with a band of dark brown. The neck is high and trimmed with a lace ruffle. B - Jacket - dark brown silk with band of lighter brown silk at bottom as trimming. Triangular pockets, at neck, piping at sleeves and back seam and covering buttons of which there are eight down the front (1 missing), 4 on the slit back and 1 on each of the pockets. The coat is slit in the back fro the bustle and at sides. Lined with pale green changeable silk taffeta and has a valencienne lace ruffle at the high neck, it is fastened in front with five hook and eyes. C - Skirt - elliptical shaped skirt with founces of light brown silk edged with dark brown silk under which are applied dark flounces of dark brown with fringed ends. Lined with stiffened muslin. D - Pannier of light brown with a ruffle of dark brown on edge secured by a band. The rounded ends cross in back and are fastened by a grosgrain bow in the two browns. Lined with stiffened muslin. E - Hat - faced with velvet in lighter brown, front trimmed with grosgrain bow and irridescent pheasent feathers with a plume of white hair.
